>attend orchestra performance of soundtrack >enjoying craft and composition from the orchestra in a formal respectful way >people laughing out loud over the dialogue of a game they've played many times Why can't people just shut the fuck up and respect the performance?

Imagine going to an orchestra based around a rather nerdy or juvenile interest, and finding out that the people attending are nerds and people with juvenile senses of humor, and then bitching about it on /vr/

>Why can't people just shut the fuck up and respect the performance?Ask me how I know this is one of the first live performances of anything popular you've ever been to.

I get wanting to respect the musicians, but laughing at familiar dialogue during a video game concert doesn't inherently mean people are disrespecting the performance.

Orchestral arrangements of video game music always sound shit awful and I have no idea why anyone would ever want to listen to that garbage. The only good non-game renditions are when people try to get as close to the synth instruments as possible, like the guy who played the Zeal theme with an actual sitar.

Why would you willingly go somewhere where you know gamers will be? Also it’s gotta suck to be an orchestra musician and have to play video game shit just to get by.

i'll keep enjoying the three tenors clowning over singing O Solo Mio in tuxedos in a packed opera hall.if it bothers you that much, you could pay for a private performance, or buy their cd.

You're not upset over "formality", you're upset because people aren't elevating the game you played as a child as "important" or "serious" and so you view it as an attack on your identity. It's time to grow up.

Dude you went to a videogame concert, stop acting like this is some sort of high culture event just because you saw an orchestra for the first time in your life. People go there to have fun, so deal with it and stop acting like an arrogant fag.

the thought of going to one of these things and having to be around the type of people that go to these things is physically revolting. unironically imagine the smell.

You still got to experience something amazing. This year it was only in 3 major cities in the USA, and I was planning on visiting one, staying at a friend's, but my car exploded into all sorts of costly repairs. Friends that I was planning on staying with were asking why I didn't go, as it was primarily for me, so all I got was to see some of their phone videos of it and I really wish the entity would have spared me from emptying the emergency fund, allowing me to participate in such a great experience. I am jealous you were able to go, be grateful for that amazing experience and performance. The screen not only reflected to parts of the game that the orchestra was playing, but that same collective strong memory the music is associated with, so others may have also cherished the humor and joy of the moment too. It was a limited time only 3 dates in 3 cities in the USA, I even saved up to go, but it all went away just a month before, and I am still cursing that I couldn't go, you have no idea how fortunate you are.
