I know people like 4 a good deal and it's a good game, but I will always feel let down by it after playing 3. 3 gave us 4 characters to play as, it was intense and fun.I also have huge fond memories of trying to figure out 2, talking with friends and family and looking up things in magazines. I never played anything before 1-4 soooo.....3 > 2 > 4 > 1

3, Bloodlines, 1, SOTN, Rondo, Game boy advance stuff, 2, 4, Chronicles and 64 tie at the bottom. I like things about all of them. Even 64 isn’t so bad. I think 4 has great presentation and music, but its just too easy and the all directions whip makes it so casual.

I've only played Chronicles and 1 so far... I loved Chronicles' arrage mode, didn't even try the OG due to hearing how the X68000 is for more hardcore fans. I went this route as I wanted to start with 1, and this seemed similar, but with the added difficulty settings, and saving, it was great, I got through on Easy with 5 lives at first, then Normal with 3, after that I put Chronicles down in order to try out 1, and I love it so far... still, the Frankenstein boss is filtering me, and the one time I got through it was the corridor before the Death boss that did it, this is rough, but fun. I'm not sure if I'll manage to beat it though, I hope I can, we'll see.

When I was growing up I was all about the Sotn and gameboy advance/Nintendo ds games. At 35 I decided to try the old stuff and now those are my favorite. Rondo. 3. Etc. I wish they would go back to making one like that again.
