I will never not be satisfied at seeing this and I will NEVER be attempting it again. It has been over 20 years and I still bust out in a cold sweat when remembering the effort it took.

Some anon in the previous thread commented about Enthusia having patches now to remove analog deadzones and adjust trigger sensitivity in PCSX2. Sadly, the game's still awkward to play with a controller because the analog curve is VERY sluggish and non-linear. Even at increased sensitivity it still sucks, feels like handling a boat.

How the fuck do I get gud at anti-gravity racing games? Not just /vr/ ones like Wipeout, but any of them in general. They seem to handle very differently from conventional racers.

Despite its infamous cover art this was a pretty solid vehicular combat racer for the GBA though the final boss race was ridiculously hard and you only had a limited amount of tries

I'm curious if anyone beat my Daytona times from like 2 years ago when I did nothing but run dino canyon for like 10 hours a day (was unemployed for 3 months kek). The other 14 hours were spent running Laguna seca in AC with he mx 5 cup. Mental illness level of obsession I remember posting here and on /o/

The difficulty on expert is insane, and more so if you turn on damages. You'll be driving carefully because one touch means race over and then this happens all the fucking time.

the most intense inputs I've had to do in a racing game were while playing Xpand Rally and Xpand Rally Xtreme very quickly my wheel would get the distinct aroma of warm grease from between the gears inside the wheel

I do wish there were more classic need for speed style games. Games where it is cool street tracks and cool cars - real or fiction doesn't matter - without a heavy focus on many arcade styling of the time like timed checkpoints or a sole focus on beating other competitors. Just being able to do laps while weaving between traffic is very relaxing even at high speeds. Test drive does but the 3d games are pretty rough, burnout only really touches on that for the first two games and beyond that my knowledge of similar titles is sparse. Midtown madness and midnight club are sort of in that style but the open world doesn't scratch that itch.

The qualifying sessions in this game are kinda bullshit. You'll set the fastest lap during the 12 laps you have available and then find yourself 10th in the starting grid because the entire session is an hour long and the CPU will simulate superlaps for themselves, and you must have a good starting position if you play with damages enabled. The only counter is entering the pits in the penultimate lap and let the timer run (which you cannot fast forward in-game, only via emulator) so the CPU doesn't cheat. Oh and you'll have to go out of the pits a few seconds before the timer runs out and complete your last lap or otherwise they'll cheat too.

As much as muh nostalgia goes a long way even with real hardware the playstation version of need for speed II is a hell of a lot easier to play when it isn't running at 10fps because of the cockpit view (setting GTE to being a single clock cycle in emulation really, really helps performance).

I fucking hate this game so much. Fuck me for seeking F1 recommendations. The CPU cheats so much. So, in medium race length, the hard tires still degrade as fast as the softs (they only have an effect in the long race distance) so in theory everyone has to pit once per race. But Schumacher went and did all the race without a single pitbox stint somehow. I was 1 sec away when I had to enter the pits. All the other drivers pitted, but not our Schumi! couldn't be precious Schumi! stealing me blind! and he gets to be a world champion? what a sick joke! I should've stopped him when I had the chance! and you, you have to stop him, you-

Checked out CART World Series on PS1.Either I suck horribly at this game or the AI is extra brutal even on the easiest difficulty setting. Feels like staying within track limits is suicide for the idea of winning races. Also, the music's almost good. Almost, because who decided that completely destroying it was the best call?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im3IIc5r_3U

Virtua Racing looked better on the 32X than the Saturn. It's not even debatable. I don't know if the system was just ass or SEGA was full of incompetent programmers, but they needed to do better, Senator.
