I'd go with SNK's suicide by amusement parks.

Jack Tramiel owned it for awhile so yes. That guy bought a video game company and didn't want to make game consoles,

NEC definitely deserves a mention. They failed miserably marketing the PC Engine outside of Japan and then followed it up with one of the absolute worst consoles ever in the PC-FX. Not even Atari or Sega embarrassed themselves this badly

Unlike Sega, Atari was at the top of the industry at some point. Let that sink in.

I’d say yes because they fumbled their original monopoly on the console market and lost their arcade lead; then they were brought back to life as a home computer manufacturer till Jack “the Kike” Tramiel ran it into the ground by gutting all the talent and gambling on a console he cut corners on.

Kassar Atari, yeah. A great company ruined by the same American business practices that are causing tech industry bubbles now.Tramiel Atari, not really. They were actually doing pretty alright up until their stupid bet in the Jaguar. The Tramiels should've sticked to computers, the only thing they were decent at.

I'd say it's actually the 3DO company,Atari, NEC, Commodore all succeeded before they failed. Whereas 3DO failed from the beginning, because their entire business plan was essentially a poison pill and it all backfired horribly,The "license the hardware" plan was just completely fucking doomed because not only could you not make the consoles a loss leader for the sake of hardware sales you couldn't even sell them at cost or even a minor margin. The manufacturers' only stake was in hardware sales so they had to make their money there, hence the ridiculous, outrageous, totally noncompetitive price. And the idea was that it would be cheap to develop for and offer better terms than Nintendo so it would attract 3rd parties, which was not a terrible premise. But it launched with ONE fucking game and not even a good one. The most horrifically expensive console on the market had no games, so no one bought it, so it had a small user base, so the massive 3rd party support never materialized because why make games for a console no one's buying? They put the cart before the horse. It needed to launch with killer apps, come out of the gate hard and prove the audience was there, and instead they just fell right on their face from minute one. Seriously, how the FUCK do you release a console more expensive with the SNES, Genesis, and TG16 *combined* at the time and not even have launch titles ready? And even after that they fucked up the Jurassic Park license by releasing lazy minigame slop instead of the platformers that sold like hotcakes on every other console. Being able to use actual film footage from the hottest movie in decades should have been a coup and instead the 3DO JP got mogged by last-gen versions. Similarly, the near-arcade quality of their Street Fighter port should have been a real selling point but they took the piss out of it by not having a default six-button controller, which had already become the standard. So many blown opportunities

Probably. Selling Driver devs is about the stupidest thing they could have done.

The Apple Cray story was true. They ordered a $15M Cray (in purple) to do silicon simulations for their own CPU back in the 80's.
Only problem was a Cray is a vector processing monster that was meant to do scientific compute running Fortran. All the silicon simulation stuff was written in C and used planar processing. The Cray sucked at that. They would have been better off with VAX-11s. The Sun-1 workstations running the Motorola 68000 worked better.
Someone at Apple didn't do their homework. The CPU architecture they chose turned out to be a dead end too. RISC was the new hotness at the time, but a lot of people were also into stack processing using the Forth language. So the original Apple Silicon was meant to be a stack based processor. Weird.

It wasn't just market forces that doomed Atari, The '83 crash could have been survivable, but Atari management was totally fucked.
Warner was a music and media company, not a tech company. They didn't understand innovation. Their attitude was, "Why make a new game console, we already have one." They were treating it the way you treat a tape deck, or a VCR, "All we need to do is make the games." So the 2600 stayed the same from 1977 to 1983.
There were internal rivalries too. Lots of tribalism. The game guys hated the computer guys and the feelings were mutual. They purposely made the game carts for the 5200 incompatible with the 800/400 even though they were the same software. The 5200 was basically an 800/400 without a keyboard and the games just needed a little tweak. But no, both were competing with each other even though a unified platform benefited the whole company.

They were never a good company in the first place, all of their good games were licensed from Namco. They had the benefit of being one of first on the scene, but had they come later there would be nothing notable about them. The only historically important game that they ever made was Breakout, and they didn't even make that Steve Wozniak did (and he wasn't an employee). And Breakout itself isn't even important, it's the game it inspired that's important.

Texas Instruments fucked up so bad they crashed the industry and then quickly left the market so the FTC wouldn't break them up.

I mean most of their mismanagement was in the 2000s or later.

I guess Sega. They had talented devs and still managed to screw everything up.
