Anyone played it? Its premise sounds profound Summary: >Fuyuu City >a group of five attractive and powerful women, control the city. >Men in the city are treated poorly compared to women, until the protagonist finds himself in the middle of the city with amnesia. >Outraged, the protagonist decides to defeat [the women] and gain rights for the discriminated men of the city.

It's impossible to talk about this game because everyone who talks about it misinterprets the game to try and fit his modern political narrative into it.It's a self-aware comedy mocking early 90's otaku, made by early 90's otaku, and to get the right picture of what otaku means in this context you have to imagine that meme of the Japanese magazine describing and comparing Megadrive fans to PC-Engine fans. So the premise is imagining a future where all men have become either nerds or otaku, and as a result women rule the world and men are useless, seen as pitiful and weak. So your goal is to become strong and fight the 5 ruling women in battles (it's an RPG so battles it is), but it's not like you "beat" them, you just fight them to the point that the battles end once the girls realize you are just as strong as them. They don't show any sign of being "beaten/defeated" when the battles end. It's not about overpowering the other sex, it's about equality.But instead nobody actually plays the game and just tries to insert his modern polititcal agenda one way or the other, either by pretending that the game is outrageous because "you beat women into submission" (which you don't), or on the other side of the spectrum people who pretend that it's some sort of mancho game for chuds just as themselves because you defeat women activistists (which isn't what happens either). Just another case of modernism ruining discourse of a game because, well, because people are retarded. And that's exactly what OP is doing as well for instance the protagonist isn't a "men's right activisist", his motive is only himself.

I just tried out the Famicom version real fast and it's kusoge. Even the menus feel like shit. And this came out over a year after Dragon Quest IV.

(GAY) Even the supposed emancipation of men here is just “prove to us your capacity as farming equipment” when men are already presumably keeping water running through the taps in this city, no way the women are doing anything other than just throwing their weight around. The premise and scenario of this game are endlessly infatuating to me. But I can never play it for more than 15 minutes before giving up since I find Famicom JRPGs insufferable, and this one is especially egregious. Maybe if the PC Engine version ever gets translated, I'll check it out properly.
