Good shit if you can fix the controller. It also is backwards compatible with the 2600, but you need a weird adapter.

The floppy joystick was the standard for PC gaming of the time period, which was seemingly based off of RC plane and car remotes. It wasn't quite as silly of a design as it is often considered.

Really difficult to understand the thought process with this one. It’s essentially a consolized version of their computer hardware, which is essentially what the 400 was, except it was more expensive and incompatible with the already established software. I could see it being marketable if it was compatible with VCS games from the get-go, but as it is, just seems like a knee jerk reaction to maintain their console dominance after the 3200 fell through. No wonder it failed so bad.

Atari did not make quality products. Americans are not good at scientifically refining their manufacturing processes, which is why they lost the entire consumer electronics industry to asia. Atari and it's low quality products are good examples of this.
