Let your original hardware go. Trust me, you won't care, and there are countless dumbasses willing to pay out the nose. Think about how much money you're leaving on the table in the name of "purity" when it's not only unneeded but potentially even better when emulated.

In fact, all that work you did to put an ODE in your console? That makes it even MORE sought-after.

All in all I noticed I play a lot more having the real consoles and a lot less when my only option is to emulate. If you ever feel like you're stuck and not playing enough games, consider the real hardware.

Nice try Gamestop, I'm not giving you my childhood consoles for pennies just so you can turn around and sell them for hundreds because all you have left is to turn to retro since modern consoles going digital is going to kill off your stores.

While I think the OP is being a shitter there is something to be said about this whole experience and how much you're willing to divorce yourself from it before it makes more sense to just emulate stuff. There's such a push to do retro gaming as efficiently as possible (so using the modern TV you already have and eliminate failing drive components with solid state storage that holds every game you own) that the actual hardware kind of feels lost in that. Once you've done all that stuff it no longer feels like you're playing games the way you did when your hardware was still new.
