Super at the start is alright, at least pre-SNES. Slapping 64 on the end of everything was just laziness. For me, it's games with 2000 in the title that didn't come out in 1999 or 2000
>Faceball 2000
>Dune 2000
>Firepower 2000
>V2000
>Tempest/Breakout/Defender 2000
>Gamera 2000
It's fine for like 70s/80s sci-fi, but when the millennium is right around the the corner it just sounds so lame.

64. It's inclusion can only be attributed to the console name and makes zero sense in any other context. "Super" naming is still obviously due to the console's name (and I guess by extension, also because of Super Mario Bros, since presumably that played a part in how Nintendo named the console), but it's also a general adjective which still makes sense in any other context. "Super" can just mean it's an exciting game full of cool shit, "64" just means it's on the Nintendo 64.

Why is it called "Super Metroid" if Super Earthbound the alien super and Samus wasn't but the Metroid?

What gives? That's like a Super [title] for the Genesis.

The most egregious is PS2 games ending in 2:
>Metal Gear Solid 2
>Silent Hill 2
>Armored Core 2
>Guilty Gear X2
>Virtua Figgter 2
Har har you guys, naming everything just because it's on the Playstation 2. Pick something original like Super Monkey Ball or picrel

I think the only really embarrassing scenario existed on the 64.
>after the fact, neutered port
>giving it a special name for the afterthought release
super was more often a completely unrelated non marketing term or it was a one off release on the super nintendo.

Games ending in 64. If you're autistic like me you can relate to literally taking it as the 64th release of a franchise until reality sets in.

64 has soulrisma, and stands alone decades into the future. Super is lame, bland, and while it did establish brand recognition with SNES titles, Super doesn't belong to Nintendo like 64 does.
