Previous thread: >>12379750 >Try to keep things /vr/ related: Focus should be on 6th Gen Consoles and older. Slight off topic is fine so long as it's related to CRTs, such as later 16:9 models, HD models, etc. Systems with backwards compatibility are also safe territory, as are re-releases on newer hardware. PC CRTs are also welcome and appreciated. >Produce OC! Bust out your camera and take photos of your CRTs displaying all sorts of games, featuring all sorts of tubes, using all sorts of signals. Getting good shots can be hard, but if you take enough, at least a few will turn out alright. >Try and give as much information as possible when asking for info on a specific set, or troubleshooting an issue to expedite and help you may receive. As always, Google is your friend and we are your friends with benefits. Do people read this? Older archived threads aren't a bad place to look either; Seriously, there's literally 6 years of backlog at this point. >Share appreciation for others choice of technology and personal philosophy of gaming. Always remember to show courtesy in your discussion and moderate yourselves first. Limited discussion of video processing and scaling devices is alright, but remember to keep the focus on CRTs and CRT accessories. Just read the hunting guide, how new is that? Is it still relevant? I am curious if it has a decent chance of working or if they are going to tell me to fuck off and make me feel bad.

So whats the QRD on head cleaners? My CRT has a built in VHS player, and I got an old head cleaner with it. General advice seems to be you don't need to use them, unless quality is noticeably poor. Even then people seem a bit mixed on if you should use an old one like I have, over just buying an unopened one off ebay or something.

>got one of those cheap HDMI -> RCA converters from walmart >open it up, says I need a micro USB charger >order one since people haven't used those for 15 years >use it for a while, works pretty good >one day realize I unplugged the micro usb from the wall, yet the converter still works Strange. Guess the HDMIs power is enough for it, makes you wonder why they even have the cable port in the first place.

so this 13" I found a couple months ago was an easy clean up. I debated opening it up to dust off the internals, but I decided not risking breaking some plastic tab. looked through the vents with a flashlight and it looked clean. I'm sure theres a thin layer of dust. has to be after 23 years, but I dont think its worth the effort.screens immaculate and it has 9,400 hours on it. my superstation one is arriving tuesday so I can check it over and calibrate it with 240p test suite then.

this thing is cheap enough one of you should buy it and review it, unsual vga + cga/ega (although the end of the cable is cut). kme site lists it as 15khz-40khz, but i don't know if it takes analog for 15khz126851192845

Workplace gave me a 20 inch Zenith with a built in VCR VCR doesn't want to accept tapes, and while I got Mario on the SNES working, the power to the TV invariably shuts off after about 5-10 seconds no matter what you're trying to do with it Pressing the power button again brings your Mario back, but then the TV shuts down again in about 5-10 seconds Is this fixable? Or should I just give this thing away

I gave myself a reddit present and recapped the power supply, deflection board, and audio amp in my kx-2501a. Feels crisp, time to play some ps2 rpgs.

Someone finally added a different rebrand of the mystery ID plate missing Insignia flatscreen I've had for a while to CRT database a few months ago, yipee. I have the vaguest chance of getting a remote and maybe into rhe service menu for this thing now.

Okay, I have found a TV with a SCART port. What do I need for a VGA output? Passive or powered? I've been looking around but can't find a definite answer. Am I fucked? pic related

the downside to using low end hardware to emulate games is that the shaders aren't good. your limited to using zfast and crt pi because the hardware is not powerful enough.. the only way to get a good picture with a raspberry pi is by using a CRT. all the shaders suck due to the underpowered raspberry pi
