If PS2 counts as retro now, SH2 and 3, morso 3 than 2 cause I feel it is a bit more of a current story that is actually happening in the moment while SH2 is an exploration of events that already transpired and feels more abstract (also I guess you require just a bit of empathy since for whatever reason a lot of people saw that Heather, a teen girl, was the protag and that wasn't well recieved just because iirc)

Any time I hear "emotional intelligence" or "empathy" I know I'm in for a load of horseshit.
"Wahhh my emotions are strong, they must be stronger than yours!" Is an obvious statement that the speaker does not have any "empathy" for others and it's a performative act to get something from you.
Just because a character is dying, raped, traumatized, or is trauma-dumping on-screen doesn't suddenly make something emotional.
Fuck it, let's say the MGS series requires it.
