I have a 27" Sony Trinitron ProFeel CRT TV, a 14" Sony Trinitron PVM CRT, and a 21" ViewSonic PC CRT Monitor. I even gifted my nephew a 17" Dell PC CRT Monitor (made in China) that I bought years ago as a "back up" since I realised my other CRTs are built like tanks. I also have multiples of certain consoles (PS1, PS2, PS3, OG Xbox, Wii, etc) since I realised they're good to have around even just for spare parts.

Also the next thing is PSP. PSP is based and probably the peak handheld of all time. It has an optical drive, so it has soul. It has movies. It can be used to emulate and run homebrew. You can turn off the Wifi (that's soulful) and it takes the soulful and now, for the time being, dirt cheap Memory Sticks. It's rugged, has a replaceable battery, it's perfect. PSP-3000 specifically is the peak of all handhelds and it's been just phones since then. That's not soulful.So, there's still time. You might not like PSP but the smart money is on PSP now. It has most of the old classic soulful games, a bunch of soulful new-enough games to keep people busy. If you have a PS3, you can set it up above your TV and play Gran Turismo and it will become the rear view mirror! That's based.Anyway it's too late for the other stuff, you missed the party. I just got a big hard case that holds 40 UMDs and it came jammed full of MOVIES AND MUSIC VIDEOS lol. Neat! Somebody actually bought UMD videos, I never thought anybody would because PSP natively supported MP4 playback and you could just rip and encode your own movies and store them on the memory stick.

Caps are easy as fuck to replace, especially on through hole component boardsIf the console shits out then we can replace entire boards already, like the entire PSU of the ps1 is replaceable already. We can emulate the games with near perfect accuracy (perfect for some consoles, like NES). Therefore we can somewhat easily manufacturer a new console that is 1:1 in exact specification.The cartridges are easier, because the roms are dumped. So you could just manufacture new carts (which we already do), or load a rom onto the 1:1 console for the same experience.As for controllers, original controllers are seldom reproduced perfectly, but if there was an actual problem with something like NES controllers dying en masse, we could very easily reproduce them as well.As time moves forward, more consoles will follow this path. So this is a non issue, unless you are a collector

hopefully FPGA up to and including sixth gen will be almost perfect, as well as most significant games from those generations being de/recompiled and can run natively on anything, and retrotink 8k will be cloned by chinks for poorfags all within the next 20 years. hopefully we could just replicate console shells and load the bios onto a raspberry pi 13 inside and all the roms onto a 16TB SD card. controllers would be the only thing i'm worried about but i'm sure we would figure it out when it really becomes a problem like
