This whole sub series was a mistake. hated what they did with the story after X. hated the redesign of Zero. the gameplay suffered from the screen crunch of the GBA. Having the cyber elves and punishing your score for using them, stupid. The ranking system in the later games, requiring a whole replay to raise, stupid. Locking certain moves behind this, even dumber. The only saving grace is the gameplay in certain spots can be fun. but it's below Classic and the Best X games easily.

how so? it played just fine to me. they designed things very well so the smaller visible area wasn't an issue for navigation.

just use them when you're not in a mission, retard. "oh but the ones that just affect the current mission!" those are the piss baby mode ones that are only meant to be used at the end to unlock jackson.

they're consistently more fun than half of the classic series, and the only good x games are 1, 4, and 5.

Nah, the only area it was annoying in was the factory in MMZ1, the rest of the game is fine.

I never cared about that shit. I also saw absolutely no point in using any of the cyber elves for a mission.MMZ is a fun series, the challenge is perfect.
If you don't like MMZ I wouldn't recommend playing anything at all made by Inti Creates.

I used to love the Zero games back in the day, because I was an easily impressed teenager, but they're objectively full of bad design choices, like having to grind weapon exp in Z1/2 just to have fucking charged attacks on your weapons (yes, plural, not just the sword), the baseline ability in any other Mega Man game.And yes, all the cyber elf/ranking autism was really out of place. Again, no other MM game does this. It's just an Inti thing. And their own Gunvolt series (which is basically a spiritual successor to MMZ) is full of that garbage too.That said though, Zero 3 and ZX are great games that everyone should play. And you've no excuse, they're right there on Steam and every other modern platform.

The save structure, obnoxious story, and weakness system are all pretty shit, but the actual gameplay, weapons, level designs, and bossfights are far and away some of the best of any Mega Man game, right up there with MMX1, so it gets a pass. It really does feel like for every one thing that Capcom does right with Mega Man, they do some stupid bullshit to offset it

From the outside, Zero looks like a tonal and mechanical detour built around GBA constraints, not a clean continuation. I'm gonna say you didn't get filtered but gave it a good chance and I might just bother with the series to see just how lackluster it really is. Thanks OP
