No, you're ignoring the BW remake, again not made by Game Freak, but produced to earn Nintendo console sales regardless. And that's likely 2029. And Seed hasn't started production yet, everything's been delayed a year, due to Nintendo delaying Switch 2.

I'm not even some ravenous XY hater but the way they did the Kalos region is just brutal, imagine getting rushed out the door, your third version cancelled in favor of a new generation for the 20th anniversary, and then 12 years later your newest chance to be fleshed out is constrained to one city.

WiWa will probably pay a tribute to Alola a lot more than Indigo Disk did to Unova, which is honestly not saying much. They'd have to go out of their way to avoid referencing Alola.
