It really is remarkable how the honest people being open about the power of LLMs in translation (their skill at translating + their skill in QCing translations) get shit on, while companies and fan-translators just use it in private without telling anyone while reaping the rewards. It's totally backwards. We're ringing the alarm bells that MTL now has this capacity and that companies are going to start shifting over it to save costs and improve quality. Meanwhile, while that actually happens, people are rolling their eyes.The VN community is lucky it had some small amount of honest people at least because otherwise this would be happening while everyone is ignorant. At least now people have a choice to acknowledge and see the truth that, indeed, the sudden uptick of near 100% accurate translations as judged by LLMs is because companies and fans have started using LLMs. That can't be changed, but what can be changed is being informed about it.
