I realize it's not art, but holy fuck am I glad that all my shader spaghetti finally works like it should. 2D and 3D areas are clearly separated and don't conflict anymore, so I can do cool effects on the background without worrying about the 2D elements like before (e.g. the water reflection reflecting transparent stuff in front of it). Took me a whole day of experimenting to find the right solution, but it works and I'm super happy.
