Foolish OP, in your attempts to provoke others you have fallen into pure naivety, as though you are not yourself aware that "Touhou" is an equivocal term.
Everything you say is true, in the literal sense, if we assume that Touhou refers exclusively to canon material, yet it does not, and it cannot. Why continue this charade? The series is a great edifice, its characters are wild spirits, and Gensokyo is a conquerer of human hearts. What you describe is not sacrliege, it is by design, a simple exchange. One side is allowed to do whatever it pleases, and the other expands thereby. Why blame them, when they were merely offered a mirror and a sandbox? An unending series of deaths, murders and loves is par for the course, and with each step they take another bond is formed, a bond much easier to forget than to break.
In fact, you are too green. Is said character OOC or off model? To hell with it. Let us reshape them, drive the original into the dirt, dance and fuck on top of its grave, since leaving it alone is too cruel. Are they are in a canon relationship? Perhaps not, but I can imagine otherwise, just to crush that too. Do I care about the characters? Which iteration of which moment could you be referring to? Canon is just as good at serving for justification. It is not easy to abandon the revelry.
By the end of this mutual debasement, we can sit back and continue wasting away, scribbles on paper and cumstains the only proof of our connection, while the Youkai laugh in spite of themselves. They are quite lively for having died so often. And as a call to elitism? Come on now.
