I mean honestly, most hospitals just bill you and it goes to collection or to a business that’ll give you interest free payments. so get it fixed and worry about it later. I have $93 I have to pay every month and my company’s contribution to my HSA covers it just barely.

Do you have short term disability? It paid 80% of my income but they don’t take out state income tax nor do they take out retirement and other stuff so it was basically like my normal pay check to just sit on my ass.

First, don't train combat sports without proper insurance. Second, sneak over the border to Canada and get it taken care of.

I've had bucket handle tears in both of my knees from bjj. One in 2015 and one in 2021. First one I didn't have insurance but just rehabbed myself and wore a brace to train for a few years. Second one a piece broke off and I couldn't extend my leg but luckily I had insurance or I'd basically be crippled now. Had to get surgery for that one. If you do get surgery try to get repair instead of removal even though the recovery sucks and you''ll probably tear it again if you keep doing bjj. I had to get removal which basically guarantees bad arthritis pretty early. BJJ is fucking dumb lol but I didn't quit. You should probably quit though because it's dumb

>how could this possibly happen?
Just do some light wrestling and get a few privates to learn some basic submissions. You don't need to know ten varieties of testiclelock to defend yourself from a rapist. Train for a few years then quit. After a point it's counterproductive, and the chance of being injured in training outweighs the chance of training preventing injury.

how long ago did the injury occur?
is your knee catching or getting locked?
it will swell up and be hard to bend for a bit, but once the swelling goes down - if the knee can flex and extend without structural blocks, im not so sure there is anything beneficial they can do

I’ve had a torn meniscus twice, once a few years ago and once again recently.Basically you’ll need a mri then surgery for a permanent fix. Outside of that, it may eventually heal. But it won’t be perfect. Don’t do any high impact stuff like running. But try to keep it moving after the swelling comes down. It’s important to keep it moving for blood flow. Ai should be good at recommending physio style stretches/exercises for a potential tear.Despite what people say, fuck Canada. Our wait times are at over 5 months for a repair. Just go into dept to get it fixed. They won’t be able to do much until a few weeks pass for the swelling to come down. I’ve been on bpc-157 and at 3 weeks feel almost normal. But as a marathon runner I also know I shouldn’t stress it. But day to day tasks are fine.Give it 2-3 weeks, get an out of pocket mri for around a grand, because you can do that in America while I wait 3 months. Then you can get a surgery to repair it and pay that off with monthly instalments.

I train judo and bjj and surprisingly the safer and less injury prone of the two is the one where you slam people into the floor.
