making some karaage next week for a get together with some friends, and was struck with the idea to also fry some tteokbokki in the same breading/marinade, anyone tried this before?
thinking i'll par-cook the rice cakes before putting them in the marinade, probably only for an hour or two so they dont get too salty

doesn't sound like a good idea, it would have too much moisture
karaage is supposed to be crispy

What’s the marinade and will you be using rice cake rolls or oval rice cake slices? I’ve never done a coated rice cake before but they’re pretty good lightly fried in oil, which I think is sort of what you’re going for except to a greater degree
