It's fine if you eat processed boxed shit that won't differ from item to item but if you eat a lot of things made from fresh ingredients, then do you really want a minimum wage worker picking out the better fruits, veggies, and meats? For example, some potato dishes want closely-sized potatoes, or if you're making stuffed bell peppers you're going to want properly and uniformly shaped ones.
A different issue I ran into when I tried it is that places will let you make the purchase and reserve your time slot, but obviously they won't be picking out the items until it's time for delivery, so if something integral to your recipe ends up being sold out then you're shit out of luck. They'll take it off your bill, but if you're planning a salmon dish and they're out of salmon then sucks to be you. If you're in the store then you can browse your options and swap items in your cart on the fly. In the end I'd rather just pick shit out myself.
