in the 80s my dad worked at an Exxon and a former Five Guys employee (apparently the black one in this photo) who said that it was initially started as a money laundering scheme. the five kids went to Wakefield which was the ghetto high school in Arlington county, and apparently they were drug dealers. it was only until later that it became an actual business and the kid's dad got involved in it. the only real evidence i have is that this photo is poorly edited to remove the black dude on some websites. circumstantially a lot of people i've talked to says the first Five Guys location was extremely cheap. that's all
