During discovery in the tobacco trials it was discovered that Phillip Morris had deliberately used contaminated fertilizer on tobacco crops in the late 50s, which gave a whole generation of smokers lung cancer. Instead of admitting that they knowingly mass murdered all of those people, they let "scientists" claim that tobacco is inherently carcinogenic.
