You are 100% right about this. Beyond all of that, you don't even touch on the home-cooking reality which is that your access to quality ingredients is through the roof when you live in cornfuck, ohio and are surrounded by farms, ranches, and the amish. You may commute an hour to your job but you drive past about 10 farmer's markets on the way. City slickers do not comprehend this and think their ability to pay more at whole foods equates to the ability to buy a fresh half cow from a farm 10 miles down the road. Living where the food comes from is an automatic win and there are zero coastie copes for this other than seafood, which I will let them have.
