They're pretty alright for what they claim to do. I had one in college to grill burgers and whatever and I was a 1 man cook in my dorm. If you have an apartment they're a kinda okay substitute for a grill, because you can do burgers and dogs and whatever on it, but thats about it.For how much people meme on it, there aren't really any downsides to it.

They're okay for when you don't want to fire up a traditional pit. You just won't get a nice maillard reaction though, something even a propane grill can provide.

I saved the grease from whatever I cooked on it a jar. It was super grease from many different proteins and made everything I fried extra tasty.

They don't last more than a year or two.the burnt on bits wont come off unless you scrub it, but the problem is that when you scrub it, the non-stick coating scrubs off too.

I recently dug one of these things out of my parents' basement because I was moving and needed an easy grilling thingy and it was free, they bought it back when they were first popular. It does okay with stuff that has lots of surface area, like it cooks a burger decently. Would not recommend for sausages, it takes forever. They're a bitch to clean too, I think some have removable grates but mine doesn't. Now that I have a real grill I probably won't use it anymore.

I had one of these things while dorm/apartment hopping in college since grilling wasn't an easy thing to do and I didn't always have a range to cook on.It's an electric grill. It doesn't get hot enough like propane and charcoal, so it takes forever. Works well enough, and probably it's best use is as a panni press. Bitch to clean, you needed a special grate sponge to clean it.Overall a meme device, ok for singles, and overall not worth it. It's far better to do smash burgers in a cast iron on a stovetop, and the cast iron will be cheaper.

we have a really old bulky model. It's mainly used for melts and paninis. Works well. I'd rather use the stainless steel pan for everything else.

I have one, not specifically Foreman, but some cheap one. I make sandwiches in it, tortilla rolls and bell peppers mostly. Made a steak in it once, wasn't great (mostly because I had no idea what I was doing).
DO NOT get one with non-removable plates, it's a BITCH to clean.
