Hi guys. I’m 35 and have been a paralegal for like 12 years. If you don’t know what that is I am a lawyer’s assistant. But I’m in a senior role. I help lawyers manage lawsuits and do a lot of really tedious hard thinking on work.
Honestly I’m burned out. Doing all of this hard thinking and research and being hunched over at my computer all day, while multi tasking on multiple cases with deadlines is just not what I want to keep doing.
But I make about $140k-$150k after overtime.
I am familiar with some legal softwares and have this idea that maybe I can move into tech sales of some type. I head they can make a lot of money. I’m in the Bay Area by the way.
But I have the stability of my paralegal career. I actually just hit my peak in this career with this job. Many parlegal jobs don’t pay this much.
I don’t want to start out making less than I do now. Can someone who knows give me some advice and outlook on this idea I have to make a career move into tech sales?
Also, I have pretty good people skills and a bachelors degree.
Thanks.

The tech job market is brutal after years of layoffs and nobody hiring. You're better off staying in your industry and getting a law degree or something to progress.

After calculating how many hours it takes to get there, what's your actual hourly pay?
