Everyone always approaches the dating scene with the idea of putting their best foot forward but that’s not how relationships survive. What people should do is say the WORST thing themselves. The absolute worst. If the other person can stomach you for even ONE SECOND, then maybe, MAYBE, you just might have a chance. So that’s it. Say the worst possible truth about yourself and others will tell you if you can be stomached enough to date.

I do this. Not as a conscious decision but because I have trouble taking compliments. It just seems wrong to me for some reason. So whenever someone says something nice about me, I point out one of my flaws. I make no effort to boast or show off accomplisments, rather I downplay them.In my experience this usually leads to people liking me more, even if there are a few awkward moments after rejecting a compliment.
