What are some socially acceptable places to go out and try to make friends (and maybe a girlfriend too)?
There aren't any hobby places in my city, and the ones that we have are sport stuff (which i can't afford), and the only park in here is only used by runners. I've also considered going to a pub, but thought it would be weird to go by myself.
Are there any other options that I haven't considered yet?

in my own experience the sole way to get a friend is to get "adopted" by an extrovert at work or school and integrate yourself into their social circle.my sister was in a similar spot and had no friends at all for years. she found her first friend in 5+ years in psych ward (they weren't in there for long or anything) and they're still friends lol.
