I got a really spiteful, selfish, and egotistical brother. He has anger issues, lashes out violently, and he turns 180 and drops you if you piss him off. However, due to how my life has panned out, he's my only way out of the rut I am in. He has the means to get me a job, help me find a place to live in, date, etc. and he's a really useful asset, as long as I don't piss him off. However, I am one slip away from getting him pissed off to not consider helping me. He's my only option, so I need to be diplomatic and walk on egg shells around him. How to survive this?

You have other options, you've just been convinced by an abuser that you don't. Reach out to a domestic violence hotline and discuss options for leaving. Take control of your life.

I don't get the question, just don't piss him offDon't piss him off for long enough that you are in a better life situation and can afford to piss him off

From my experience, until you can survive on your own, you have to stay put. Think of yourself as a Private. I know it’s super hard to do, but no talkbacks against the drill sergeants, and life will be more manageable. Just turn off your brainIf he's willing to provide things you listed, he is not pure evil if you think about it. There's a sliver of goodness in him
