Hello anons. I hate my life, I hate life in general.
Everything is so shitty nowadays. I live in a big city and it’s the absolutely worst. There’s no sense of community and everybody avoids each other. I rarely talk to anyone on any given day. I don’t even really want to desu. Like I’m so lonely, but I try to avoid talking to anyone, I just want to do my thing and get back home.
Everything today feels like shit. Politics is shit. Social media is shit. TV and movies are shit. I play video games less, I’m still addicted to porn. I’m trying to quit that but porn is literally fucking everywhere.
I’m not motivated to do anything, let alone work. I often fantasize about growing up hundreds of years ago in a small village or something. I don’t talk to my family because they’re all toxic. I have no one to lean on and I also don’t even let people in because I’m cripplingly avoidant. After so much therapy and learning how to connect, I’ve ironically alienated myself from others because nobody knows how to connect.
I don’t know what to do with my life. I make great money, but I barely work because I hate it. I have a cat that I love.
Idk everything just feels like shit these days. Sorry for the sloppy writing, I realize it was a vent. I’m just sad and angry and depressed and fucking lonely.
Can anyone share a similar experience and how they go through it?

When you start to analyze life, you realize that it's terribly bad, everything is wrong, we are wrong. I feel that at this point in life it no longer makes sense to be depressed about that (specifically) since the only ones who get depressed are us and nobody is going to care. I wouldn't know what to tell you about porn since I've never seen it. Try to reduce it gradually and don't cut back abruptly. For example, if you used to watch 5 videos a day, try watching 3 or 4. You might not notice the difference right away. I hope you get better soon, pull through, and make friends to get out of that depressing hole. ( ゚∀゚)

I'm going through something similar. The only things that seems to help so far:
1. Forcing social interactions, usually through some sort of group or ritual I feel obligated to join
2. Trying to be more vulnerable with people to introduce more meaning and authenticity in relationships
3. Being more careful of the media I consume, curating it so I'm better exposed to uplifting or interesting contentI'm still in a bad spot but the above stuff at least helps

Get off the interwebs
Spend time outside
Go be great at a lot of things. I know you aren't already a master at everything so get to it
Call your friends and family, like call them and don't text
Go watch the sun rise or set somewhere pretty
Book a flight somewhere and travel to see new thingsBasically what I'm saying is to start living the life you want to live. Start your bucket list today since yesterday will never come back.

>I hate my life, I hate life in general.
Remember that there's a 37 billion USD industry who's goal is to make you feel inadequate and miserable. Don't give in to their manipulation.

You have the self-awareness to write these two sentences back to back.
Your experience isn't everyone's. Social city living comes with parties every weekend, community centers filled with people with every niche hobby and so many neighbors all the time.
Isolated village living has 1 neighbor that's an antisocial nut living a mile away, constant feuds with the crazy nuts out in the middle of nowhere, entertainment in the form of raiding the nearest city whenever they have large events like sportsball games because there's literally nothing to do.Your idea or quaint village life is that of a Disney adult.
