Anonymous09/07/26, 11:50No.34900133arguing with people on internet
why is it so tiresome?
even if you arent trying to argue but just posing a genuine question where you want to learn something, a lot of people just want to shit on you for no reason, oftentimes they wont even bother to read your question properly?
example:
brought up an issue I have with some old ass videogame, someone suggests it might have to do with fps cap, i explain its not that due to my fps being capped.
Then someone brings up some point thats completely irrelevant to my question, and someone else joins to shit on me based on that irrelevant point
its all so tiresome.
at this point i just reply "ok you are right, i shouldnt have asked a question" and stop the conversation right there.
i noticed that being pretty effective in real life arguments too

You can't control other people's behavior, so it's better to focus on what you can control, such as being less sensitive.

It's infinitely easier to talk shit than to effortpost. But I do feel the current zeitgest is biased towards rudeness. Maybe it's correlated with the fact more people spend more time on the web? Dunno.
But where did you ask that question ? Forums might be more helpful than whatever 295th discord server exists on a topic
