newly homeless in Oregon. how can I get myself inside a psych ward or something? I don't want to sleep outside.

not from the us but i thought they had homeless shelters there
you can also threaten to kill yourself if you want to stay in a psych ward but they'll probably bill you and leave you even worse financially

So this is what I'd personally do (and have done before actually). When you get to the psych ward no matter what they say to you keep saying you're feeling suicidal that you keep feeling suicidal no matter what and that you have plans to kill yourself in your mind every minute and that you will kill yourself the very second you get out. At that point if you're so insistent on suicide they can't legally discharge you because if you do end up killing yourself it'll look really bad for them.

if u absolutely cnt gt any real shelter of any kind and cannot move in with anyone there's probably same day shelters with temporary beds.those places usually have some sort of curfew and a dead set schedule so u r better off asking them in person early in the afternoon. places usually close completely at 8 - 10 pm. if u plan to stay homeless u need to look into those now. get to whatever is popular or known, and yes go to places that are specifically labeled as shelters, do not go to social service offices that's a completely different thing.some cities have detox centers with same-day admittance where you can fake going through some kind of withdrawal and be granted a bed of up to three nights. those places r usually shiet and take away your phone and communication with the outside world and also have a curfew of 10pm.psych wards also the take away your contact with the outside world and try to get u into a program. not exactly a fun routeapply for welfare and ga now. if u do, u can always stay in low prices hostels same night (like hotels but u share a room with three black people, a good one is 30$/night 700/month on booking dot cum) u can get a min wage job and support yourself while u. if u can get free shelter and a job u will not believe how fast money stacks up but the curfews usually fuck up your sleep.the most important thing about surviving homelessness is having some degree of hygiene not getting your shit stolen.you should have important things (phone phone charger, documents, money) on your body at all times and replaceables (anything you can buy at a store) go into carry on bagsI had a really troubled family life and no one to stay with was homeless off and on for awhile so hopefully some of this helps whatever poor fuck needs thisalso. all homeless people are faggots and unless you're a faggot u do not try to make friends. u do what u need to do and go on with life. abuse the system and get govt paid housing if u can while having a job

look for homeless shelters. some suck more than others, but at least you get fed and some have work clothes, etc. they might could hook you up with some money too. much better than a psych ward, those places are literal hell where they experiment on you with horrible drugs, then drop you off at the front door of the homeless shelter.
