What exactly is a brojo? Tried looking around for some MMA classes in my city recently, I told my friend about it and he said MMA is all just a bunch of brojo gyms. What the fuck?

If I had to guess with nothing but this post to go on I would say it's a portmanteau of "bro" and "dojo", the implication being dumb, jocky, frat types.
