Loose, soft clothing like a tracksuit is a liability, just as it is when working with heavy machinery, and for the same reasons. The tracksuit in your picture offers a hundred places to grab on to, and a number of those grab locations can be used to hinder your mobility. If that hood falls down over your face you can't see. If your sleeve is pulled down over your hand, you can't move your arm properly to strike or grab. A longer stretch on clothing allows your opponent more leverage on you. The footwear is also a liability - it restricts your foot from moving freely while failing to provide any significant protection against stomps, or any shock absorption when you kick something hard. It is the worst of both worlds, a compromise in every aspect. The fact is that streetwear and sportswear is not designed with hand-to-hand combat in mind, and provides far more disadvantages than advantages.
