The truth is that if you can't beat someone in a fight, your chances of being able to draw and fire during that fight aren't as great as you might think. Sure, you have a better chance than without any gun, but it's wrong to see carrying a gun as some kind of magic solution that will let you win 100% of the time.
inb4 "i wont let him get close" yeah, you will. You're not going to just shoot anyone that comes within 20 feet of you. You're probably going to get your ass beat and have your gun stolen or worse. I recommend getting at least some training/experience with open handed fighting as a supplement to carrying.

weapon retention starts with good situational awareness and decent striking and grappling skills, and good baseline cardio, hand-eye coordination, strength and flexibility. OP is baiting but srsly, watch hours and hours of footage of bodycam footage. Shit doesn't go down as smoothly 1 v 1 most of the time even if the cop has a firearm and the suspect does not. Always helps to both be able to confidently and reliably use a firearm AND use your body to strike and grapple your opponent.Find or grow a community of friends and colleagues that you can go to the range with AND spar/roll with, and sooner or later you'll be starting your own little militia....
