Dead internet's been true for a decade, at minimum. When algorithms were invented in the mid 2010s, they were immediately used to effectively control everything people read in their feeds. When the internet became centralized, around that period of time too, it also put all of the power into the hands of the people who control those algorithms. You haven't had a concrete, organic internet for many, many years now. This is why everyone's been pushed towards fascism, too. They're reading propagandistic bullshit curated by billionaires, which they believe to be organic thoughts or opinions from real people out there in the world, but none of it is. It's all just bait to keep everyone voting for further fascism, on the basis of identity politics.

The internet is probably 50-70% AI slop already. I don’t think anyone even uses the term “dead” any more. It’s just the Slop Internet. It is real and we have it now. Search-engine-optimization is a big factor here because so far very few of the major internet companies have done anything to shadowbans on slopster sites, and without that the slop is just taking over rapidly

Yes but not the normal idea. The idea of "its all bots = dead" is not happening. Its just simply becoming more dead entirely. Every site I browse has plummeted in users, even somewhat normie ones. There's no AI bots replacing them its just nothing. If anything its almost as if a fuck ton of bots that has always be keeping things alive all suddenly got turned off and now it feels even deader the normal.
