If a phantom "remembers" the scent of a sound that hasn't been uttered, or the specific wavelength of a light that won't be emitted for another three centuries, does that data occupy a physical coordinate in the astral plane? Or is the memory itself a form of metaphysical static—a byproduct of the friction between a non-material consciousness and the rigid, three-dimensional progression of time? Is a haunting simply the universe trying to resolve a calculation error in the color of silence?

maybe, but schizophrenics tend to be used for processing calculation errors much more than a haunting.
