Every time I point this out on reddit I get downvoted by dipshits that now want social justice for aliens But wouldn't humanoid species of space faring civilizations have white skin like the Nordics at best (or sexy blue if your Grusch) and translucent grey at worst. I can't imagine you get a great amount of vitamin D and I'm half convinced if greys exists with their big ass eyes they spend a lot of time either under ground or in the dark. (BIG if they appear like often depicted). I don't understand how this is white supremacist logic and I'm not trying to make this post as such, is it not scientific consensus why skin mutates to lighter tones in lack of direct sun exposure? This isn't some latent racism right, it's logical?

Even for humans, true melanistic phenotypes (like those that exist for most other mammals) don't exist. Melanin has a substantial negative survival pressure if you don't rely on natural camouflage to survive, the systemic effects it has on sunlight response curves are pretty disruptive.

Most stars are red dwarfs and you don't receive much light from them and planets probably are tidally locked so yes most of these aliens will avoid sun like the plague because they already do in their home planet. This probably also explains why most abductions are at night.

Evolution is a meme if you have a civilization that can move from one part of the galaxy to the other. There will be some hierarchy and we all know in all forms of hierarchy the one on top if not already look different than the ones below start to dress up like clowns just to look different and easily distinguishable from the ones below them. This will even more apparent to species that can manipulate their genes. Skin color is irrelevant. They may go from purple to blue sometimes even green if there is an medical condition, but 20k years ago the ruling class became red because red is something that cannot naturally occur. The type of planet does not matter, the size of the eyes does not matter, the way they get vitamin D if they even need it as much as humans does not mater. Unless they are some really low level grunts their genetic modifications will not necessary make the more suited for "space life". They may come from some very sunny planet where everyone else is brows and have small deep eyes but their ruling class may be so pale they look translucent and have to have 10 attendants apply nanogel on their skin just to get outside but it does not matter.

The fact "aliens" are humanoid is to me an indication they're not extra terrestrial, but future humans. Perhaps genetically modified (hence diversity from reptilians to nordics to greys), but human. It would also explain how they can exist in our atmosphere, understand our behaviour/thoughts, and are interested in us. To genuine ETs we're barely smarter than apes/dolphins/whales. Plus FTL travel means time travel is also possible; the same tech is required. If "aliens" and UFOs/UAPs are real, it makes more sense that they're future humans doing tourism in time.
