The secret technology enslavement hypothesis makes less sense when you realize we’ve all got washers and dryers and cars and guns, and if you want to you can save up some money and buy your own solar and achieve independence from the electric grid. If the system is keeping secret tech from us to keep us weak and dependent they’re not doing a good job. Sonnet 5 is already AGI if you ask me. It’s generally capable of almost any task and if you let it try multiple times and properly define the task it has a good success rate.
