There’s a downside to this btw. Why would a criminal shoot a store clerk in broad daylight without a mask in front of multiple witnesses? Because he lives entirely in the present moment. Right now he either leaves with money or leaves without money. The future consequences never occur to him, because the future is just an abstract concept. He doesn’t have to pay immediate consequences, therefore there are no consequences. The “future him” is literally another person having no connection to the current him. When he later gets arrested, he’s living in the present moment where he literally didn’t do anything wrong, he was just walking down the street and suddenly these cops tackled him for “no reason.” It wasn’t him that did it, it was some other person called “past him,” again an abstract concept.
