All there is is mind.
Mind can be dumb, wise, enlightened. It can take many physical forms, transform, but it never dies. Every living being is mentally immortal. And fundamentally everyting is mind, the material world is just illusion.

The easiest way to detect a hylic is to ask them the Vertiginous Question: Why am I me and not someone else? If their reaction to it is something like "The question is meaningless.
