>I’ve heard from a variety of sources that if enough damage is accrued in the astral body, it will manifest in the physical.
I've never had it happen, and I've encountered a lot of violence in the astral world,.
> This even includes killing someone by severing the cord.
I don't know if this is a thing or not. The silver chord, to me, seems like a meme. What you believe in the astral determines a lot about how you experience it.
There are two experiences that might seem cord like that I can recall. One was, I intended to see my dna stretched out like in the meme about dna stretching to the moon, and I essentially got shot out like a cannon from earth along a dna strand from the surface of the earth into space, and that felt quite scary, but really cool too.
The other would be I managed to manifest part of my dreaming consciousness into the room I was in, and I experienced it a bit like a flower of blue plasma with a distinct impression of a tube of some sort connecting this flower to my body. Unfortunately the impression was so fast I didn't have time to fully perceive what form the plasma actually took, nor where the tube was connecting to my body.
>On the flip side - does this mean powering up the astral body can also manifest?
Yes, it can, but maybe not how you think currently. To me, it seems like I intend my astral body to do things, and I have something of a dual perception, where I perceive some aspects of my astral body, and can perceive some parts of this existence through it. Maybe I'm just not strong enough. To practice something like that, I'd suggest doing yoga, and simultaneously while you do the yogic poses and breathing meditation, also intend your astral body to move. I can be a bit like seeing your astral body showing you something, and then doing it physically, or vise versa. This type of thing is the primary focus of sorcery and nagualism, particular branches of occultism which have a bit of lore and practices associated with them.
