Made some webms of the 1986 Mario anime fandub and wasn't sure where to put 'em because it's not technically video game content, and the anime thread is terminally triggered by dubs.
They rebuilt the OST from the ground up and it sounds exactly like an 80s localization. Extremely comfy shit if you're old enough to remember buying overpriced dubs on VHS from Suncoast Video.

I caught this last year when it came out and was pleasantly surprised. It feels really authentic, especially the music. It would have been real easy for them to go the Ghost Stories/gag dub route and try to make every line into some kind of joke or Mario meme, but I'm glad they resisted the temptation.

Lupin III part 2 is one of the comfiest dubs ever. It's silly without being entirely a gag dub and maintaining the original characterizations and intent. I'd argue that the cast is iconic at this point. Catching an episode of this at 1 AM on toonami was always peak vibes.
