Anonymous09/09/26, 06:40No.114709917About that Merger
I don't understand this merger debacle, I think it's a nothing burger. EN and ID talents are still here, and what's up with people offending Fubuki?. My head hurts just to see this pointless debacle, people are exaggerating. and I am not a bootlicker or a shill.

It's not a nothingburguer. We are never getting a new English speaking chuuba again.

A comment Foobs read while she was talking about how nothing changes and viewing it only as a positive, because it will enable even more freedom between collabs and events, summarized it well.
"There was never a feeling of borders or restrictions for collabs between members, so people don't see why this is needed".
She then pivoted to speculate that maybe the actual change is within management and that she doesn't know much about that.

It’s opportunists shitposting as if the bones and skin of each branch aren’t still intact. Some of it is genuine uncertainty, obviously, but any change will elicit reactions such as those.

No one actually knows how this will turn out. It could be bad or it could be good. I think we don't have enough details to really know one way or the other. We can only know with time.Much of what you are seeing in terms of debate is little more than baseless speculation from fans, spectators and tourists alike being egged on by drama channels. Most of the actual talents have expressed hope that the changes will be a good thing.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fh643cBijiw

I think the issue is people just don't know what it means in terms of vtubing and the talents specifically because Cover has done fuck-all anything related to vtubing in years. Does this mean we're never getting any debuts that aren't Japanese chuubas anymore? Who knows, this company hasn't done a proper debut in years, in any language. What about community/corpo box events? Do we even still do those? People just don't know what it means so they default to a negative response.

Looks like competition for the next JPs IS real. They are going to drop the losers. They will probably pull a Niji and graduate the worst performing EN / ID. JP are protected once you make it though.

The jp side isn't losing anything, and mio even said that absolutely nothing will change for her. Meanwhile the rest will have to give up their identity, and recognizable branding.
Honestly found it really hard reading all that from her, its so utterly tone deaf. Basically "Nothing is changing for me so I dont understand why anyone else would be upset." Not what you'd expect from her.

I see it sort of like the dream of capitalism vs the realism.
Ideally, everyone has equal opportunities, but realistically nepotism, connections and money wins out.

>Ok miss fubuki, from now on, you are no longer Hololive Japan, but Hololive Global!
>Yes, your branch is merged into global.
>Yes, please remove that Japan flag from your Twitter profile
>Aren't you happy you can now play with your global friends?
>Nothing changes, your branch is just merged into Global! You can still speak Japanese! Didn't you understand our announcement just now (which was in English?)
>Don't worry, you can still join in the Global (English) events! Nothing changed right?
>What do you mean 5 years building home grown fans? They're not going anywhere silly, you're just global now!

Imagine a branch called Hololive USA, and it gets merged into what is effectively Hololive Japan. That's how it feels to lose the thing you've been proud of and fighting for

Let’s check in on the talent reaction:
>Kiara: Suspended
>ID: Doomposting and memeing
>Bae: Memeing on her alt
>Rest of Holo EN: Corpo statements

It is a nothing burger as of now. (Nothing burger, such a faggoty saying btw) we don't know how this merge will play out, so all these EN fags and talents drama posting is bs. Maybe it is bad for EN and ID other wise they wouldn't be doom posting. But like I said, we'll just have to see what happens. Its not even been a few days for fuck sake

Merging is always bad for some people. They totally are firing those workers "behind the cameras" whom the girls managed to like and love.
And they totally will shave off those girls that don't move certain ammount of money nor those that the bosses don't like. So, expect at least one or two girls (and most probably more) to get fired and some girls to leave by their own accord.

By throwing them all in the same pot implies Hololive no longer has the resources to maintain independent branches, that's a bad sign.

Mergers are usually bad news in any company for any industry. A merger that closes down entire regions of the company is even worse news for customers of those regions. This is true for companies in general.

I no longer trust the fox after what she said about this. She set up several straw men and knocked them down but never addressed the possible concern of no future English gens

You just have to make peace with the fact Hololive as a corpo grew too fast because there was no competition and that internally they are incompetent. They fumbled the ball completely and lost the Western market. They're in full retreat.
