People focus on the place of residence, whether they live in Japan or not, but I think it's more about how much they care about the branch identity. ID was really attached to it because they were always "the underdogs" or whatever and now they'll just completely disappear within "hololive (only JP matters™)".The thing with most EN's is that they just don't give a fuck about the branch unity, they never cared about doing anything as a group such as holiday/anniversary events, they just care about their own content. Nothing wrong with that, but it's honestly unique to EN, neither JP nor ID behave like this. Maybe it's "le western individualism" or something.

You know what bugs me? It bugs me that some of the talents seemed to find out about this when we did. I don't think there'd be much point in acting surprised about this if they'd all known beforehand, and with previous graduations, they all made it pretty clear that they knew once the announcement was made, which seems very different to now.I guess, putting it out there, my optimistic hope is that they actually start getting vtubers from all around the world, if they want to make it a "global brand" and try moving forward like that once the dust settles on asobiwhateverthefuck. My pessimistic take is that this is indeed the end of ID and EN, and that the grads will come for the old heads first.

ID have the most to lose, since they actually had pride in being ID first and then holo.
