It’s time for more news about my game - a totally free RPG/strategy simulator in which you take on the role of a Dark Lord attempting to conquer or destroy a fantasy world through schemes, dark magic, and military might.
I’ve rolled out another major update. I’ve finally acted on the suggestions that came up repeatedly in our previous conversations, and now:
1) Statistics are displayed on the side, via a drop-down menu, rather than at the bottom of the screen below the text.
2) When base stats change as a result of a player's decision or an in-game event, the game explicitly communicates this change.
These are the most important new features; in addition, I have of course added new scenes, events, and graphics.

After playing, please let me know which character you chose and whether you won or lost (including a brief description of how your game ended). If you encounter anything that looks like a bug, please send a screenshot (with your stats visible). If you run into a blank screen, please describe the scene that preceded it. Nice, I'll check it out OP. I genuinely want more writing based strategy games and RPGs
(I recommend Roadwarden and almost recommend Cyberpunkdreams).

Got a bullshit ending that made me feel like I wasted 20 minutes of my life.

https://fightingfantazine.co.uk/product/issue-17-august-27th-2022/kind of related. fighting fantasy fanzine had a barbarian warlord minigame that OP might wanna check out for inspiration. but it's less grimdark and more crush kill and plunder. it's probably more fun for people who read some of the FF gamebooks before, as you get to kick the ass of various powerful endgame bosses and superwizards, and some asshole paladin in the game.

I gave it a shot. A neat distraction, but I didn't have much motivation to continue after Dozakannor kicked my ass lol
