I know no one cares about navy but I still feel the need to point out that TFR's ship categories are based on outdated cold war classification - we're talking before the Arleigh Burke class destroyers were even designed. Frigates are no longer purely anti-submarine/anti-small-boat surface defence ships that sit around as pickets while the destroyers actually fight, modern frigates can have up to 48 VLS cells which the mod would classify as a destroyer. Meanwhile, it's impossible to make an IRL missile destroyer that's classed as a destroyer since modern destroyers have 100 or more VLS cells, which only the mod's cruiser hulls can fit, and cruiser hulls also can't fit anti-submarine weapons for no discernable reason.My point is that cruisers don't really exist anymore and frigates are just small destroyers. Missile frigate spam is the new meta but those don't technically exist in TFR.

I don't understand why KX even devoted resources to reworking Germany. Literally just do what they did with chicom and take it from KR. Does it seem like hoi4 modding has, if not died, heavily become anaemic? There are so many instances where a mod takes forever to update only to add something inconsequential or borderline ignorable, a lot of titles that I had once been so invested in have completely died off or are stuck in "just you wait" territory. Tfr is the vocal point of this right now I feel because they are bordering on falling into this cycle when they had such a great history of mini-updates before hand and I really do not want to see them slide down this path. I understand they are focusing on 1.1, despite a different update being promised before it and it still not arriving, but it really sucks right now. I try not to be a doomer about it but there are so many other cases of hoi mods just dying or going into comas. I have faith in the Russian team and I miss the Chinese team because they both seemed to keep up a certain drip feeding of content even if Kaliningrad Animal was rough on release. If they give me a Lukashenko CPRF path available in 2022 then all will be forgiven.

Tried TFR Russia at highest difficulty and buffing NATO by 2 steps. Remember Elite Medvedev feeling trivial. Did LDPR for the first time, heard they were the strongest. Thought I was doing OK but I found out I could not get enough manpower to really cover the 1EW front with 20W APC+SPG divs (was actually hoping to use twice as big divs), because there was no way to increase conscription. Got like 1.5 divs per tile in the end, which simply couldn't hold, and as soon as it broke anywhere it of course expanded the front further and became unsalvageable. How do my fellow Gamers deal with such issues? Would smaller divs even function? Trying again I guess I would focus more on air and make sure to pick the manpower branches, since men were way scarcer than industry was, but I don't know if that would be enough to fix the problem.

The NSB supply update doesn't mesh properly with the automated frontlines/battleplanner that's been in the game from the beginning. Optimal play around supply hubs requires microing units along rail lines toward supply hubs, which is already a pain in the ass because the UI can't show you territory control and supply lines at the same time because the UI toggles are separate modes rather than layers, which is retarded. But more importantly, the battleplanner is utterly incapable of keeping units within optimal supply routes, meaning it WILL, without fail, send large numbers of units into poor supply tiles if you tell it to advance, and trying to get it to take only particular tiles with the spearhead command is frustrating to the point of not being worth bothering with. The fact you can't mix frontlines and fallback lines makes it worse because if the battleplanner sends a unit into a bad supply tile, you can't tell it to fall back without making an outright hole in your frontline, and there's nothing to stop it from advancing again anyway.The only actual way to play properly is to micro divisions, constantly looking at the supply map to make sure you're advancing along rail lines towards hubs. But the game isn't really designed for you to do this - there's so many tiles that can be filled with hundreds and hundreds of divisions that it becomes infeasible. HOI2 understood this - it had manual unit control, but the tiles were much larger and the basic unit you controlled was the corps, not the division - divisions were merely subunits assigned to corps, not controlled individually.
