ubishit aside, I am very fond of 1800
it's such a nice feeling of accomplishment when your cities start industrializing and electricity becomes commonplace

Did the Rome Anno add curved roads? How'd that game go

new dlc for 117 is just another big pointless buff machine to shovel resources into. by the looks of it. I didn't even bother to fire the game up, just read trough the dev blog and release notes, noped out and came here to shit on it

I love all Anno games, they are different lenses at different time periods.
Basically the core concept is always the same with concurrent planning of economic, diplomatic and military needs.
Story wise, well, they are all over the place.
Very few games can actually make me feel like I am going on an epic and historic adventure but the 1404 campaign managed that with the holy crusadeWhat bothers me the most in the more recent games is the lack of proper AI economy. It's all fake, all their islands, totally cosmetic. One of the devs at one point clarified that CPU resources are too constrained to give the AI a real economy

After 117 I think it would be fun to have a BC spinoff focused around the minoans.

Could do a fictitious 90's inspired cyberpunk.

Imagine how much better the series would be if it was freed from Ubishit

you could just change the gimmick to adding up to multiples of 9 instead of 9 and then making Anno 1908 or 1944 or whatever

I feel like using the queens island is cheating and never build on it

I liked the Archipelago, Noblesse Oblige and Barren Lands scenarios for Anno 1404. It was fun having scenario goals that weren't just "build a gigantic city with 10,000 noblemen" while also having specific restrictions on how you had to play to beat them.

We heard you, next anno will be 2304 with none of the previous entry cliffhanger being addressed, we'll also dumb down the fuck out of it again but look how good our DLSS implementation is!

There any anno-ish games with a fantasy setting? Like your worker buildings are shaman, witches, priests, adventurers, arcanists, alchemists. Industrial scale exploitation of magic principles.

What Anno needs is not an AI that plays the exact same game as the player, but plays a different game that is similar enough that it can be interacted with in ways that feel fun. It is no fun if the AI doesn't actually need resources or doesn't need trading ships, because then it is impossible to blockade them and your only interaction is to siege their islands and take them.

What frustrates me about 2070 and 2205 is that their main selling point gimmick, underwater and space respectively, are not used to their fullest. In 2070, underwater islands are only for resources, and in 2205 the Moon only has two tiers.
Anno in general has a bad habit of having a very generic temperate European pop, and then any other pop barely gets any content at all. Even in 1800, the New World didn't get a third tier until the very last DLC season.

Anon09/01/26, 10:38No.2479806
Weren't underwater islands in 2070 just a DLC? So they were not the selling gimmick, instead it was the first non-historical Anno with technology and that was its gimmick. Vice 2205 where the Moon colony was part of the initial release and tundra and the space station were post-release expansions.

More details about the egypt DLC dropped, big things are that it's "greek" populations that you can romanize and you can start a new game in egypt
Also a ubishit cosmetic pack featuring greek aesthetics for residences and some statues

Does anyone have any experience with IAAM or SBM for Anno 1404? I tried setting up IAAM for History Edition but it crashes to desktop after the initial loading screens. Has anyone gotten either version to work?

Here's a mod that fixes the AI not building armies in 1701 HE because Ubi is a bunch of lazy hacks and refuses to fix one line of codehttps://www.nexusmods.com/anno1701historyedition/mods/1

Are all Anno games as tedious as 1800? Trying optimize trade routes was such a chore that I straight up deleted it. It feels like there is no time for building, doing quests, expeditions, war or diplomacy. Just optimize fucking trade routes and happiness 24/7. Why couldn't ports just work as warehouses and have the goods teleport between them?

Anno 2070 kind of lacks sovl. I am not that experienced in the futuristic Annos.
I am curious to figure the strategic end game with the nukes.

How do I stop my economy in 1800 from being bipolar? Everything is going good but then suddenly I'm losing 20k daily because I placed one house to many and some guy didn't get his schnapps.

Haven't seen someone posting this here yet, so: Anno 117 Egypt info dump> "A defining feature of the new province is a large river winding through a biome dominated largely by desert. Flooding is not merely a visual backdrop but a gameplay mechanic: it can disrupt production chains while also leaving behind fertile soil."> "Fertility plays a major role in the new region, and many of the new technologies revolve around transporting water. Ubisoft previously implemented similar risk-reward mechanics with the volcanic island of Cinis in the first DLC."> "A total of five new population tiers are being introduced with *Awakening of the Delta*. The first tier consists of Grain Gatherers, followed by Potters at the second tier. Those who choose the Roman path get Scribes instead—thus continuing the choice between local culture and Romanization familiar from the Albion region."> "In addition, there is an expanded research tree, further goods, three new deities, and two new military units. Ubisoft has also hinted that pyramids will play a role. The exact date for "Awakening of the Delta" has not yet been set."> "Ubishaft intends to continue the series of expansions for as long as possible, Creative Director Manuel Reinher explained at Gamescom. "Overall, we are on the right track in all respects," he said. According to Ubisoft, *Anno 117* is the fastest-selling game in the series. Reinher has high hopes for the upcoming DLC: "'Awakening of the Delta' will have a major impact on the game.""https://www.heise.de/news/Anno-117-Aegypten-Erweiterung-Erwachen-des-Deltas-kommt-im-November-11427053.html
