AoE2, my classroom when i was 7 had a computer in a back and we could play Akanoid, Tomb Raider and AoE2 during breaks We had no idea how to play, i remember kids trying to figure out on to build stuff (they thought they had to bring more wood and stone to the construction instead of having the builders work on it) It's a nice memory

Star Wars: Empire at War.This was also one of the first PC games I ever played, and the first one I officially owned, at the ripe old age of eight. I still vividly remember the excitement I had when I figured out I could also play as the Empire within the campaign and skirmish matches.I picked this over Total War: Empire at a Walmart. I'm real happy I ended up picking the Star War, because eight year old me would have have probably been grossly overwhelmed and disappointed trying to learn the Total War all by myself.I still play it to this day.

RA1 on the PS1. Console games were always very superficial to me so seeing someting like this on a console was very unprecedented. Then soon after that, games like Tiberian Sun and Age of Empires 2 were released which were a huge leap in RTS IMO, and the PS1 version of RA1 no longer seemed so special.
