my impression list from the player test branch, highest difficulty. it's a bit silly making rankings when the player always wins guaranteed, so I'll just pretend the AI and map seeds will one day matter.
>S tier
Corals, strongest army with both defense and offense scaling together. Tons of influence and diplomatic options outside combat. Always the highest score AI for good reason.
>A tier
Last Lords: Reliable economy, science and population powerhouse. Contender with bugs for strongest starter hero. Weakest faction combat passive, great at bullying weaker armies, struggles against other factions at equal odds with better passives.Kin of Sheridan: Near invincible armies with endless shields and defense, unit upgrades solid but resource-hungry. In theory dependant on good map spawn for food and resources. Special faction powers take a while to get rolling and requires useless defense investments to unlock. Contender with Corals for strongest army.>B tier
Tahuk: Weakest early game & hero, can collapse from starting next to an aggressive necrophage. Insane science and population boosts, likely unstoppable if allowed to grow in peace. Incredible ranged firepower, army suffers from mediocre melee unit to protect them.Necrophage: Feast or famine early-game, larvae can be a nightmare to keep alive against some minor factions. Weak science stalling early on if unlucky with anomalies. Strongest starting hero to make up for weak units. Weak defense and low HP on units ensure attrition against equal opponents, good thing there's always more replacements.
