Why does combat readiness shit even exist as a mechanic? I can't imagine a single scenario of it working in the player's favor. The only thing it does is punishing the player for trying to make the fleet size sensible and relying on own skill to kill large enemy fleets.

My only guess would be a formatting error with the game version since the lines a little offset, is there a space or something before the 0? the whole line is
"gameVersion": "0.98a-RC8",As for the fast rendering thing, I'm not really sure how it interacts or what issues it might cause, but it's possible to launch the game with it. It will randomly crash on startup but it will also randomly make it through and seems to work fine but it may or may not break things under the hood.

I've been trying out Gazers on AI Afflictors/Shades and it's surprisingly effective. The gazer forces the enemy's shields to stay up in a certain direction, making maneuvering around the shield for Antimatter shots a lot easier.
