I came up with some RPG class concepts...
Which ones would you play? Are any lame? Open to interpretation or suggestion based on the info provided.
Justiciar = Physics/math/universal law paladin looking to correct inconsistencies.
Illusionist = Cocky magician who's magic isn't real, or is it?
Nomad = Wanderer with weaponized portals (cut people in half).
Abjurer = Runic surveyor mage, area based magic, leaning defensive?
Berserker = Bonk of your choice.
Syphon = Affliction doctor who transfers/converts DPS/HPS rather than generating/removing directly.
Captivator = Weaponized beauty.
Tactician = Battlefield Strategist (Athena mode).
Botanist = Half Welsh druid, half scientist.
Pacifist = Skiller/alternative game mode.
Astrologer = Skitzo cosmic conspiracy scholar who might actually be onto something.

your pictures and class titles do you no favors. at a glance almost all of this looks like cliche bog standard sword and sandal D&D stuff from 40 years ago>Syphon = Affliction doctor who transfers/converts DPS/HPS rather than generating/removing directly.
I have long been an advocate for a blood mage healing spec in WoW. Problem with most party RPGs is that almost always the healer options you are provided are good guys or girls who throw pretty magick sparkles at people to make them better. Ripping blood out of your enemies and sending it into your allies, and cycling in/out diseases would make for an appropriately edgy/cool evil healer that could fit right in with a team of edgy cool dudes like black mages, demon hunters, death knights, etc.>Tactician = Battlefield Strategist (Athena mode).
Characters with supernatural insight into the true matters of things like Cassius Bright from Trails would be well represented by out of combat gameplay like being able to immediately ascertain if an NPC is evil or identify hidden abilities in items and being able to skip the plot. I can't see how that would meaningfully distinguish them in combat gameplay.>Abjurer = Runic surveyor mage, area based magic, leaning defensive?
How is this supposed to be more interesting than a geomancer who can tangibly and visibly manipulate terrain like turning dirt into mud, water to ice, raise/lower earth platforms and water levels, etc?>Captivator = Weaponized beauty.
Again not sure how this is supposed to be interesting in combat. Do they just stand there and stunlock or confuse enemies of the opposite gender? Or would this be counting on a game with a lot of out of combat gameplay?>Nomad = Wanderer with weaponized portals (cut people in half).
Surprised we haven't seen more RPGs crib the coding and game mechanics from Valve's Portal 1 and 2.

the most "original" rpg classes have already been done by various MMORPGs including Maple Story.

Uglyuglyugly. They look nigh identical.

They are alright, nothing mind blowing. I'm making a mod for a popular dnd game and have a class that uses only natural gear.
